The terms that govern your membership — how it works and renews, the risks you accept, your conduct and privacy, and how any dispute is resolved.
Membership, fees, and renewal. Membership at the Threshold is offered at the annual rate then in effect (currently US $800 per year), exclusive of any applicable taxes (such as sales tax or VAT), for which you are responsible; all amounts are in US dollars. Membership begins upon acceptance and payment and continues for one year. Your membership renews automatically each year so that it continues without interruption, and by enrolling you authorize the Maison and its payment processor to charge your payment method the then-current annual fee on each renewal date until you cancel. The Maison will give you advance notice before a renewal and before any change in price, as required by law. You may cancel at any time, by a method as simple as the one by which you joined; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term and prevents future renewals.
Refunds. Because membership gives you immediate access to confidential materials, teachings, and a private community that cannot be returned once seen, all fees are non-refundable once your access begins. A refund is available only before you first enter — before you are given access to the Maison’s materials or community. After first access, no refund is given, whether for an unused portion of a term, benefits not used, or a membership later suspended or ended, except where the law requires otherwise. If a charge fails, the Maison may suspend membership until payment is resolved. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute for a charge you authorized, and for access you received, is a breach of these terms. Membership is personal to you, non-transferable, and confers no ownership interest in the Maison. The Maison may modify the benefits of membership and may decline, suspend, or revoke membership at its discretion.
Participation, risk, and release. Participation in the Maison’s gatherings, practices, ceremonies, communications, and activities is voluntary and may carry risks — physical, emotional, psychological, social, or financial — including risks you may not foresee. Certain activities may involve, for example, open flame and candlelight, breathwork, movement or dance, periods of fasting or dietary practice, and travel to gatherings; each carries its own risks. You represent that you are physically and mentally able to take part, and you agree to consult a qualified physician before participating if you have any condition participation could affect (including pregnancy, cardiac, respiratory, or psychiatric conditions). The Maison is not a healthcare, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial provider; it offers only spiritual, social, and educational experiences, provides no emergency medical care, and nothing it offers is a substitute for professional care or advice. You voluntarily assume all risks of participation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and agree not to sue Alchemie & Veil and its affiliated entities, founders, officers, directors, members, staff, and agents (the ‘Released Parties’) from and for any claim, liability, injury, damage, loss, or expense arising out of or relating to your participation, except for conduct finally determined to constitute gross negligence or willful misconduct. This release binds your heirs and representatives.
Conduct in the Maison. You agree to engage with the Maison and its members respectfully, lawfully, and in good faith, and to observe the Maison’s Code of Conduct: you will not harass, threaten, demean, or exploit any member; you will not photograph or record another member or any gathering without consent; you will not solicit or recruit members for outside ventures; you will respect the Maison’s substance and safety expectations at gatherings; and you will not use the Maison for any unlawful purpose. The Maison may suspend or expel any member for conduct it judges harmful to the Maison or its members, and fees are forfeited upon expulsion.
Your information and privacy. You consent to the Maison’s collection and use of your personal information to operate your membership. This information includes your name, date of birth, contact details, location, social accounts, payment information (handled by the Maison’s payment processor), and records of your participation. Because membership in an esoteric order may reveal information about your philosophical or spiritual beliefs — a special or sensitive category of data under laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and the California Privacy Rights Act — you expressly consent to the Maison processing such information for the purposes described here, and you may ask the Maison to limit its use of sensitive information. The Maison uses your information to administer membership, verify eligibility and age, arrange gatherings, communicate with you, take payment, personalize your experience, maintain safety, and meet legal obligations. The Maison does not sell your personal information. It shares information only with service providers acting on its behalf (for example, payment, form-intake, email, and analytics providers) and as required by law. Where information is transferred internationally, including from outside the United States into the United States, the Maison uses appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. The Maison keeps your information for as long as needed for these purposes and as the law requires, protects it with reasonable safeguards, and will notify you of a data breach as required by law. You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your information, and may withdraw consent, by contacting the Maison’s stewards; some information may be retained where the law permits or requires. The Maison’s full Privacy Policy governs where it provides more detail.
Identity verification. To confirm that you are a real person of eligible age and to protect the safety of the membership, the Maison verifies your identity through a third-party identity-verification provider, which checks your government-issued ID and matches it to a selfie (a biometric check). Your ID and selfie are collected and processed by that provider, not by the Maison; the Maison receives and retains only the result — that your identity and age were confirmed — and does not store your identification documents. You will be asked to consent before the biometric check, and where the law provides for it you may ask the Maison about a non-biometric alternative.
No guarantee of results. The Maison offers experiences, community, and instruction; it does not promise or guarantee any spiritual, personal, social, romantic, professional, or financial outcome. Any testimonial reflects one member’s individual experience and is not a promise of yours.
Disclaimer of warranties. Except as expressly stated and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Maison and all it provides are offered ‘as is’ and ‘as available,’ without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Released Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill; and the Maison’s total liability for all claims relating to your membership will not exceed the total fees you paid to the Maison in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, which may not apply to you.
Indemnification. You will indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these terms, your misconduct, your content, or your violation of any law or another person’s rights.
Intellectual property. The Maison’s name, marks, sigils, teachings, rites, and materials are owned by the Maison or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use them for your own participation only. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, adapt, or create derivative works from them without the Maison’s prior written consent.
No entitlement to advancement. Membership at the Threshold admits you as an Enchantress. It does not entitle you to ascend to any further degree, to be called to the Temple or the Sanctum, or to any office or recognition; advancement is conferred by the Maison in its sole discretion and is never purchased.
Eligibility and accurate information. You represent that you are at least eighteen years old, have the legal capacity to enter this agreement, and that the information you provide is true, accurate, and current, which you will keep current. The Maison may verify your identity and eligibility and may decline or revoke membership if information is false or incomplete.
Name, image, and likeness. You grant the Maison a royalty-free, worldwide license to use your name, image, likeness, and voice as captured at gatherings or in materials you provide or post to the Maison, for the Maison’s operation and promotion across media. While members may not record the Maison or one another without consent, you understand the Maison may make and use such recordings of its own gatherings. You may withdraw consent for future use by written notice, which does not affect prior uses.
Communications consent. You consent to receive communications from the Maison about your membership. If you provide a phone number and opt in, you consent to receive calls and text messages (including by automated means) at that number, and may opt out at any time by replying STOP; message and data rates may apply. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of membership.
Electronic records and signature. You consent to transact with the Maison electronically and to receive this agreement and related records electronically. You may request a paper copy and may withdraw consent to electronic records by written notice (which may limit your use of the Maison’s services). Your typed name and submission are your electronic signature and your agreement to every covenant here.
Voluntary participation. Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw your membership at any time. The Maison is a social and spiritual community, is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, financial, or religious advice or care, and nothing in your membership is intended to coerce you or require you to act against your conscience or interests.
Changes to these terms. The Maison may update these terms from time to time and will give notice of material changes as required by law; your continued membership after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Gatherings and events beyond control. The Maison may change the date, location, format, or content of any gathering, and is not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of nature, illness or public-health measures, travel disruption, or government action.
Assignment. The Maison may assign or transfer this agreement, including to an affiliated entity or a successor; you may not assign or transfer your membership.
Governing law, disputes, and arbitration. These terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to your membership are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Before beginning arbitration, the parties will attempt to resolve the dispute informally, by written notice and a thirty-day period to cure. Any unresolved dispute will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration provider (such as the American Arbitration Association) under its applicable consumer rules, seated in Wilmington, Delaware. You and the Maison waive any right to a jury trial, and agree that claims may be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding, to the extent permitted by law. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect confidentiality, intellectual property, or similar rights. Questions about the scope or enforceability of this agreement are for the arbitrator, except that the enforceability of the class-action waiver is for a court. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by written notice to the Maison within thirty days of first accepting these terms; opting out does not affect the remainder of these terms. If the class-action waiver is held unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court while all others remain in arbitration. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remains in effect.
Entire agreement. These covenants, with any Membership Terms, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy the Maison publishes, are the entire agreement between you and the Maison about your membership and supersede prior understandings; if there is a conflict, the more specific published term governs.
Survival, waiver, notices, severability. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including confidentiality, the releases, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution — survive the end of your membership. The Maison’s failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. Notices to you may be sent to the contact details you provide. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the least extent necessary to make it enforceable or, if it cannot be, severed, and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
